Hank And Janet Of The Avengers Have Been Cast!

A well trusted source close to Marvel Studios is saying that Nathan Fillion (Serenity) will be playing Dr. Henry “Hank” Pym. The actor is in final negotiations for a multi film deal that would start with The Avengers in 2012. Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) will play Janet Van Dyne as has long been speculated ever since leaving Marvel with a stack of Avengers resource material (that’s comic books to you and me) in 2008. This would actually make her the second person cast for the movie, only behind that of Robert Downey Jr.
At this point, they may only be playing S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists. No word on whether any of their super powers will be seen in the first Avengers or not. Their relationship has not been clearly defined either: simply co-workers and/or husband and wife are all still on the table. Official announcements, along with other Avengers casting news, will be done at Comic-Con in San Diego next month.

Angelina Jolie explains about the tips

On Interview: Angelina Jolie On What Creeped Out Brad When He Visited The Salt Set

They gave me tips. They just basically said, 'Just go fully into it and enjoy it.' I loved it. We called him Johnny for some reason. It was really weird. I think I was a bit suave. People had a very, very difficult time talking to me. Philip could hardly talk to me. Nobody could talk to me. It wasn’t as much what he looked like, it was when he spoke. Because when it was my voice coming out of him… And Brad came to visit me once, and I said 'You don’t want to come, I’m going to be the man.' And he said 'It won’t bother me, it’s you, whatever, it’s you.' And then he came and I was changing and so I was like half woman and half man. [He was] sooo creeped out by it.

On her next film, The Tourist, with Johnny Depp and director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck

Philip Noyce mentioned Hitchcock thrillers as an influence in making this film. Did you have that influence as well?
That would be more for The Tourist, the other film I did. That film is a little more of a throwback to those movies where people took a little more time … I think it was a lot of that. We’re very rushed today, there’s a very fast pace, very fast edit. You don’t spend a lot of time kind of looking at each other, hanging out on the balcony, somebody having a cigarette. You don’t kind of indulge in moments like they used to. And I think it’s too bad. And it doesn’t work in every film, but for The Tourist, we studied them. But Salt's faster.

It's Official: Edward Norton is No Longer Bruce Banner / Hulk

Edward Norton - The Incredible Hulk

We have full confirmation on the surprising news that broke late last night courtesy of HitFix. The same site has received an official statement from Marvel Entertainment confirming that Edward Norton

will no longer be playing Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, and that Marvel is looking for an "unknown" to use in The Avengers. We've "made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in The Avengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members."

Marvel president Kevin Feige, who wrote the message published on HitFix, adds: "The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H, Chris E, Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks." So that means we will find out at Comic-Con who will be in The Avengers line-up, including who will be replacing Norton in the role of Bruce Banner. So there we go. Even though I thought Norton did a damn good job his Hulk movie, he's being replaced. Thoughts ?
